In partnership with Learn 3D, Chaos Group is coming to South Africa for the first time during the last week of May.

 Two main events will be held as part of their activities on local soil: a User Group and an Advanced Training on V-Ray for 3ds Max.

User Group Facts

Come and join us for an evening of serious CG talk with Chaos Group, the makers of V-Ray.

Besides showcasing several of their products like Pdplayer and the recently launched
V-Ray for Maya, Chaos Group will provide a first glimpse of Phoenix , their new Fluid Dynamics application for 3ds Max to be released soon.

It will be an informative and relaxed event, with snacks and giveaways, and a chance to mingle with other players in the South African animation industry.

Space is limited, so attendance is strictly RSVP, on a first come
first served basis.

The User Group will be held on Wednesday 26 May, 18:00 for 18:30 at Learn 3D,
11 Conrad Drive, Blairgowrie, Randburg.

V-Ray Advanced Course Facts

Ever wanted to know the ins and outs of V-Ray?
Ever wondered what VrayScatterMask or VrayCompTex really do?

Now you will have the opportunity to learn the very core of V-Ray from the developers themselves.

Learn 3D is hosting two advanced V-Ray courses given by a Chaos Group expert, on Saturday 29 May, and again on Sunday 30 May.

Among other things, these courses will cover:

• How to handle heavy files (translation, optimizations, using proxies, etc).
• How to work with animation (using light cache, noise reduction, etc).
• Memory management techniques.
• How to set up network rendering and DBR.
• Working with (V-Ray) rendered elements and separate passes.
• Discussing real-world examples.

This is definitely not a beginners course, and a basic understanding of V-Ray is a must.

The duration of each course is eight hours, running from 8:30 to 17:30 with a one hour lunch break, either on Saturday or Sunday.

Spaces are limited to 15 attendants per class, so book early to
guarantee your place as this opportunity is not to be missed.

The course price is R4 000.00 plus VAT, but for registered V-Ray customers it will be discounted down to R3 100.00 plus VAT.
There is also the option of a bundle software/course for R9 400.00 ex VAT.
