Our Pixologic zbrush classes focus on 3D conceptual design as a main focus to bring your concepts to life. We will cover the sculpting tools for rapid idea creation,
texture creation using the polypainting tools, masking tools, scene organization and object organization, reference planes,file referencing, etc.Our instructor-led classes provide you with the essential skills needed to successfully use Pixologic™ ZBrush® for content creation for the games and film industry.

After finishing this course, you will have a complete understanding of the fundamentals about sculpting in ZBrush, more specifically:● Working in 3D space and organizing you scene
● Using Ztools and understanding the difference between Ztools and subtools
● Working with different materials
● Working with Lights
● Creating and using alphas to enhance the brush complexity
● Working with the different brushes and customizing your brush presets
● Using symmetry and transpose tools
● Content creation using the zspheres.
● Understanding the powerful masking tools
● Using Polygroups as a means of masking and object organization.
● Working with layers for storing sculpted details
● Polypainting and texture extraction

The course is best suited for those looking for an introduction to Sculpting.

Cobus’ knowledge of Autodesk Maya goes back to his early high-school years. He studied at Learn 3D, successfully graduating from his course in 2009.Being an active member of several international computer graphics forums, he has taken part in several industry projects. He has attended the Autodesk ACI workshop at Siggraph Vancouver 2011, becoming the first Autodesk Certified Instructor for Maya in South Africa.

He is currently the only V-Ray for Maya licensed instructor in Africa, certified by Chaos Group in 2014.

The costs for this Part-time course is R8 000.00 excluding VAT. This fee covers all course expenses including books, student licenses and other training material.Because we feel it is important for you to know where we are, and what we are doing, we kindly ask you to come for a personal interview (preferably with a parent or guardian), bringing the following information:

  • Matric certificate/grade 12 or equivalent
  • 1 Passport photograph
  • A one page statement of intent, describing in your own words why you wish to pursue a career in the digital animation industry and why you would find yourself a suitable candidate.
  • A creative portfolio for review
