Our techies have been at it again, you can now download the new Learn 3D Application Form, complete it and e-mail it right back to us.
The new form allows you to indicate your preferred interview date, as well as save all your information within the PDF itself.
Just remember, you need to e-mail us the completed application form (either using the button inside the PDF or manually attaching the completed form to an e-mail)
Once we have confirmed your interview date, remember to check out the requirements at the top right of the form when you come through for your interview.

The Awesome Learn 3D
"Home Grown" Game competition

Learn 3D is proud to announce the Learn 3D "Home Grown" games competition. All you have to do is download the awesome games* created by our super students, practice and then vote for your favourite on The Verge's Facebook page for your favourite game.
The game with the most votes will be available at our stand at rAge2011 where you can come along and battle it out for the top spots.
There are some awesome prizes like a Sony PSP, games and look 'n Listen Vouchers up for grabs!!

Free 2D illustration Courses

Siggraph 2011

Chris, Garth, Gustavo and Cobus survived more than 54 hours flying there and back to attend this year’s Siggraph in Vancouver, Canada.
Gustavo actually celebrated his birthday landing in two countries and three different cities on that day!!
Besides attending software presentations, checking out company exhibition booths and watching the latest and greatest in computer animation, Cobus also successfully completed his Autodesk Instructor Certification workshop, joining our growing family of internationally accredited instructors.

Kim’s training in Montreal

Our very own Kim Bussiahn became this July the first South African accredited Toon Boom trainer after successfully completing an advanced Harmony course in Montreal, Canada, at the Toon Boom head office.
She also had the opportunity of experiencing first hand a world-class production facility when she visited Oasis Studios. Check out the photos from her trip!

V-Ray 2.0 is announced!!

Chaos Group has just made an official announcement about the long awaited V-Ray 2.0. Starting on November 1, 2010, you will be able to upgrade your existing copy of V-Ray for 3ds Max 1.5 or Pre-Order a new copy.
V-Ray 2.0 will include three products in one: V-Ray for 3ds Max + V-Ray RT on CPU + V-Ray RT on GPU. V-Ray RT GPU is fully integrated within Autodesk 3ds Max and allows up to 30 times faster rendering and real time interaction with the virtual environment. This highly scalable rendering solution offers a number of new features like real time shading and lights set-up, distributed and cross platform rendering, progressive path tracing and many others.
The release date is scheduled to be
6th Dec 2010.

Another year, another Siggraph

This year's Siggraph was held in Los Angeles, California. Gustavo was able to attend it once more, where besides networking with other people from Autodesk and the animation industry he leaded an instructor certification workshop as an Autodesk Certified Evaluator.

nVidia announces the new Quadro family of 3D Accelerated Graphics Cards

Chaos tour to South Africa a success!

Tedi Kirova and Rusko Ruskov, from the Chaos Group team, made their first South Africa Tour to present the latest on V-Ray and the new additions for 2010. Local V-Ray users had the opportunity to enjoy a presentation on the latest of V-Ray for 3ds Max and Maya, Pdplayer as well as the upcoming V-Ray RT for Maya and the new fluid dynamics system Phoenix FD.
Learn 3D also hosted an advanced V-Ray training for 3ds Max, given by Rusko to a full class.
